Frequently asked questions

How can I check if my phone supports eSIM?

To check if your device supports eSIM: For iPhone: Go to [Settings] Select [General] and then choose [About]. Scroll down and look for the eSIM section. If your phone supports eSIM, you will see IMEI information related to eSIM. If not, your phone does not support eSIM. Or you can check as follow Go to [Settings] Select [Cellular]. Then scroll down a little bit to find the SIMs section. Here, if you see the [Add eSIM] or [Add Cellular Plan], then your device is likely eSIM Compatible. For Android: First, locate to [Settings] Find and select the [IMEI] Information section (or similar). If you can't find the IMEI Information section, you can use the search function within [Settings] and type 'IMEI' to locate it quickly. If you see information about eSIM, it means that your phone supports eSIM.
Each type of SIM has its own advantages depending on the customer's usage needs. However, there are some outstanding advantages of eSIM compared to physical SIM cards: eSIM is the best choice for a travel SIM card in terms of security, because a physical SIM card can be removed from a lost or stolen phone. eSIM can provide higher security and safety. If, unfortunately, you lose or drop your mobile device, it would be difficult for malicious individuals to remove the eSIM from your device. Therefore, you can still contact your device or track it through 3G/4G signals or other methods. Secondly, both eSIM and physical SIM cards use the same mobile network profile, so in theory, there is no difference in service quality. Customers can use eSIM without worrying about losing signal, weak signal, or slow data access. At the current time, one eSIM can only be registered for one subscriber number. However, with the rapid development of telecommunications technology today, in the future, we can integrate up to 5 subscriber numbers for one eSIM, providing exceptional convenience and expandability for customers.
Currently, some phone models can still scan activation codes normally. But when users choose to enter the eSIM information manually, they report that the process cannot be done, even though the eSIM has never been activated. This issue often occurs with US Domestic devices, such as the Samsung S21 U.S. version. So, what can be done to tackle this problem? In this case, you need to enter the activation code with the following structure: 1$[SMDP address]$[activation code], instead of the normal activation code. After that, you can continue to add the eSIM normally. And that is how you can successfully set up eSIM manually on your device. If you still have any questions, please contact our customer support department for further information.
You cannot use eSIM if your phone is carrier locked. Please check the carrier lock status for each device as follows: For Apple devices: Go to [Settings] Choose [General] [About], and scroll down. If you find [Carrier Lock – No SIM Restrictions] and [Digital SIM – IMEI] (a series of numbers), then your phone is compatible with eSIM. If you see [SIM Restricted], then your phone does not support eSIM. For Samsung and Google devices: Navigate to [Settings] [Connections] [Mobile Networks] Select [Network Operators]. If multiple networks appear, your phone might be carrier unlocked. If only one result is returned from the network search or if the Network Search option is unavailable in the Network menu, your phone may be carrier locked. The only way to be sure if your phone is carrier unlocked is to review the current policy with your service provider.
When using a physical SIM card, it can take 2-4 days, depending on the geographical location, to receive the SIM card via shipping. But with eSIM, after a successful payment, you will receive the QR code within 5 minutes via email, providing convenience and optimizing both time and costs. Sometimes, the QR code sent to your email might end up in the spam or junk folder, so please make sure to check there. In case you do not receive the code, please contact our support team.
Each application will have a different data consumption rate. The amount of data you need to buy depends on how much time you spend using applications on your phone. Usually, social media and multimedia applications tend to consume the most mobile data (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and TikTok). If you tend to spend under 60 minutes per day on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, consider data packages with 1GB per day or less. If you spend 1 to 2 hours per day on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, choose data packages with 2GB per day or less. If you use even more than that, eSIM Travel recommends using Wi-Fi, or buying multiple high-data eSIMs, or data eSIMs that have no daily limits. When running out of data while abroad, you should consider buying a new international eSIM with the same data allowance. This is because topping up data while abroad is often expensive, usually more expensive than buying a new package
APN stands for Access Point Name, which is essentially the name for the settings that a phone uses to connect to the Internet. In simple terms, it is the configuration that allows your phone to establish a connection to the Internet. If you have successfully installed an eSIM but still cannot access the Internet, follow these steps to reconfigure the APN on your phone. All of the required information will have been sent to your email when you finished your order. If you are using an iPhone: Go to [Settings]. Select [Mobile] or [Cellular]. Choose [Mobile Data Options] You will see information such as APN, username, password. What you want to do now, is to manually enter the APN information. If you are using an Android: Go to [Settings] Select [Mobile Networks] Choose Access Point Names. Tap on the [Plus (+)] or [Add] option. Enter the provided APN information. If you are using a Google Pixel: Go to [Settings] Tap on [Network & Internet] In the [SIM] section, select your eSIM. Scroll down and choose [Access Point Name] Enter the APN information. Once you have completed entering the APN, your phone should be able to access the Internet. If you still can not connect to the mobile network, please contact our customer support department for assistance.
After you have successfully ordered an eSIM and received the QR Code but you cannot scan it, there will be two scenarios as follows: 1st case is that: Your device does not support eSIM, you need to re-check to see if your device really does supports eSIM or not? Second case: Your device supports eSIM, but you cannot add the eSIM by scanning the QR code due to provider issues. In this case, you can manually install the eSIM as follows: Enter the [SM-DP+] address Enter the [Activation Code] The confirmation code field would be left empty All of this information is available in the email that eSIM ONE has sent after your purchase. Please follow our instructions on how to manually install the eSIM onto your device. If you can not perform these processes, you can reach out to us through our Social Media Channels, or our hotline.
